This Adirondack Mountains are a 6 million acre state park with easily accessed scenery and many forever wild areas. If you have visited the 'Dacks' chances are you were drawn to this area by some of Carl's images. Even the National Geographic road/trail maps of the Adirondacks have his images on them. This is I believe his third book dedicated to the Adirondacks following Adirondacks: Mini and Adirondacks: Views of an American Wilderness.I've been a fan of Carl Heilman's photography work for decades. When I retired, and started to explore this area photographically, I turned to his books in search of locations, as well as his guide for photographers Photographing the Adirondacks (Photographer's Guides). So frankly, for me, his images and books opened up this area for photographic exploration.After reading his books in planning my own journey's, I thought I was pretty familiar with his work. But this book is 'all new'; no repeat images here. And very happily, this volume is a very nice physical size, easy to hold in your lap while reading; bigger than the 'mini' volume and smaller than the 'coffee table' size of the big volume.But most importantly, these new images are stunning. Five stars is not sufficient!

This is a gorgeous book of photographs. I bought it for my father's birthday, and he has really enjoyed looking through it.

I am a great lover of all things Adirondack and have hiked many of the peaks in the park. I received this book and simply couldn't put it down. I kept thinking I just saw my favorite photo in the book and then I'd turn the page and see another breathtaking image. The sunsets, the moon rising, the wildlife, flowers, streams and seasons are so fabulous in this book. I will look at it over and over. Amazing job Carl Heilman II!!! Love love love it!
