Disappointed that this is stated for ages 8 and up and says it is for “young readers”. Be warned that the content contains controversial material you may need to explain to your young children. My 8 year old came up to me and said, “wow, Anne wanted to be a lesbian” after reading a particular entry about her desire to kiss and touch her friend’s breasts and that she goes into “ecstasy” when she sees nude females...be warned and maybe read it before you hand it over to your children...

Younger students can also benefit from this version of Anne Frank’s Diary for reading, history and social studies classes.

Wow this graphic adaptation of Anne Frank’s diary is so well done and truly amazing. It really tells this classic and true work of nonfiction in a new light. Great for lovers of anything Anne Frank. I have been to the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, and I believe this complements that museum well. It visually depicts the Nazi’s reign of terror in Europe.

I bought this for my two grandchildren ages 10 and 12. They began reading it immediately and when asked said it was "really good". Wonderful graphics. Interesting and varied layouts on pages throughout the book.

I was worried that this graphic adaptation would lose Anne's spirit or not include enough of her diary. I do believe that they did a great job of selecting the most relevant and substantial entries. I do think that this method of presenting Anne's story works and achieves its goal of garnering interest of younger generations. My students love Anne, as if she was still with us today, and I know that they are going to love this version of her diary just as much as the one they read last year. It is a triumph both in illustration and creation, and it was obviously done with a lot of love and care.

The illustrations are very nicely done; very good artwork and color scheme. The illustrations help visualize what life was like in the annex, and also give a glimpse inside Anna’s mind and show her sense of humor. On the other hand, I was left feeling that as an adult who has read the written manuscript, this illustrated version didn’t really enhance my experience. I do think, however, that it will be more useful for younger people, and for future generations, especially those who couldn’t be bothered to read her whole diary.

This book is a MuST! The illustrations are beautiful, certainly enriched the story. Its a fantastic gift for people who already read the book and for people who never heard about Anne Frank before.

I purchased this for my 8 year old daughter; when it arrived, I couldn't put it down and found my daughter was as equally engaged with the book. I asked my daughter what she would tell others about the book she says "the book teaches you about racism, the graphics are amazing and the story is very interesting".
